The Shafer Art Gallery will come alive for an evening of costumes, music, and celebration during the annual Bill McKown Masquerade Ball from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 9.
Surrounded by artwork from the Gallery’s annual “Friends & Acquaintances Exhibition,” guests are invited to dress for the occasion and enjoy live music by Little Big Band, dancing, food, and wine. The evening will also feature a costume contest.
Gallery Director Jenna Harbaugh said the exhibition features work by 41 artists from across Kansas and includes a wide range of styles and media.
“The Masquerade Ball offers artists, community members, and art enthusiasts an opportunity to gather, connect, and celebrate the creativity represented in this year’s show,” she said.
The event is free and open to guests ages 21 and older. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
