The Barton Community College Instrumental Music Department will present its free “Celestial Sounds” fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
The concert will feature performances by the Prairie Winds Concert Band, Barton JazzCats, Barton Rock Band, and a string and guitar ensemble. The concert features performers consisting of Barton students, area high school students, and community members. The string and guitar ensembles are directed by Aleia Gonzalez.
The auditorium will be transformed into a space-inspired environment designed to complement the “Celestial Sounds” theme. Fog, lighting effects, and celestial imagery projected behind the performers will help create an immersive atmosphere during the Prairie Winds’ performance.
Barton Director of Instrumental Activities Jamie Minneman said the added production elements will create a memorable night for attendees and performers alike.
“We are excited to bring you a night of instrumental music and a unique experience in Barton’s outstanding facilities,” she said. “The students have been working hard on some challenging literature, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
